Revision of all sounds
As we are now in our last school term it is important that we continue to revise all of the Jolly phonics sounds. All the children should have their sound folder to help them revise. Only when the children are fully confident with the sounds will they make further progress in their reading and writing. If you have any questions or concerns, please do let me know.

Bending group 1 (s,a,t,i,p,n)
As part of homework this week the children have brought home words from group 1 of the Jolly Phonic sounds. The children should be encouraged to sound out each of the sounds. They then should try and say the sounds faster, and eventually begin to blend the sounds in order to hear the word. The link above has a short tutorial explaining what is meant by blending. I hope it is of some help!
For example: Sat
s-a-t child should say each sound
s-a-t say the sounds a little faster
s-a-t now try and blend the sounds
sat can they hear the word?
